This axe is a real blues shredder. The three string acoustic is…loud…swampy…MEATY! Artwork to make the most grizzled butcher cry, and that bluesy tone that brings a tear to your eye. A nice guy in Southern California is wailing on this one right now,…unless he’s eating. SOLD
This custom piece went to a benefit auction and was snatched up quickly. The painting is the wife of a good friend of mine, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and this guitar went to help with the cost of her growing medical bills. Music makes her feel better, hence the quote on the neck, “music heals”, amen.
I wanted to do some folk art type images on this series of acoustic cigar box guitars and was thinking and thinking about what to do…then it hit me…why not use some of my lyrics in the songs that I wrote on the cigar box guitar for my band, The Budrows…!!!So, here are a couple of lyrics, and the images to go with them…see if you can guess what song(s) they are from. SOLD
Here was a custom order…the electric with the key ring of antique keys (it is a painting of the tattoo the customer has on his arm). I liked the ‘key’ theme, so I did an accompanying acoustic version as well, and I found some lock opening type metal thing’s (yeah, I know nice description) to decorate the boxes with.
I built this little cigar box amplifier a few years back…it was pretty fun to build and sounded great, it’s just a 9v battery, pushing 1 watt through a little 4″ speaker. You can build one yourself with the schematic found here and some basic soldering skills. SOLD
Here are the Three String Noise Machines…these cigar box guitars feature single coil pick ups with volume and tone controls. There are no sound holes in the guitars,…they are meant to be plugged in, and when they are, let me tell you,…that single coil howwwwl’s…these have that gritty blues sound you can’t live without. I play another one of these in The Budrows too. SOLD
